"The most rewarding thing for me is helping students to develop their communication skills so that they can be successful in a business environment.

It's especially gratifying when a student has been struggling with a particular concept and then conquers it."

"Today's market is all about communication skills. The jobs left in this country are no longer factory jobs. Most are in the service industry, administration or selling. All require the ability to give the most concise messages, whether written or oral. Listening is also part of communication, and knowing how to listen and process is crucial to business success."

"As a former Respiratory Therapist, I felt the most rewarding part of my career was seeing a patient get well after a traumatic injury or severe exacerbation of their lung disease and knowing I had a part in affecting that patient's recovery. When working with chronically ill patients you get to know them and their families. Every patient I have ever worked with has taught me something about life and how to live it to the fullest."

"I tell students they are doing a good job verbally and many times in their class work or tests. I let them know that I understand what it's like to be an adult learner with a job and a home life with children.

I always keep the goal set for each student and show them where they are toward that goal. When they achieve it, I make sure they are recognized."

Midway through the student's course of study, the Placement Director plays an active role in assisting in the development of interpersonal and nonverbal communications, as well as the awareness of personal strengths and abilities in the Self Awareness class. CSB's Placement Department plays an integral role in every student's program of study."

I feel the theory and skills taught to the students at CSB are top-notch, which will enable them to enter their careers confidently and successfully. My personal goal is to have our students graduate feeling competent as they enter the job market as professionals. I also want to instill into each student the importance of compassion when working with their clients. "

"All incoming students are required to participate in a student orientation class which helps them understand what their academic requirements will be in order to be successful. The Student Services Director monitors every student and provides tutoring and extra help in any subject the student feels is necessary.

Students are encouraged to accelerate classes they feel are easier for them and even possibly exempt a class. All of these different methods help to ensure every student is academically successful."
